Do you feel like you’re facing the challenges of autism or ADHD on your own?

When you don’t understand your child’s behaviour, everyday life can become stressful. You try to do everything you can as a parent, yet you feel exhausted and unable to find solutions that work.

Many parents come to me with similar questions – and simply realising that they’re not alone in facing these challenges can already bring a sense of relief.

I’m here to support you on this journey: I’ll help you better understand your child and how they experience the world, and together we’ll look for solutions that can make everyday family life a little easier.

Do any of these situations sound familiar?

  • You find it hard to understand what’s behind your child’s behaviour
  • Your child often has emotional outbursts or becomes overwhelmed
  • The usual parenting approaches don’t seem to work
  • Everyday situations can become stressful – getting dressed, getting ready to go out, or dealing with rules.
  • As a parent, you feel exhausted and unsure about what to do next

If several of these situations sound familiar, you’re in the right place. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Let me briefly tell you who I am and why this topic matters to me.

Mayer Dea_EN (1)

I’m Dea Mayer – a parent consultant specialising in autism and ADHD, and a family therapist in training

I know what it’s like to take your child to three or four different specialists for support, only to receive advice that sometimes contradicts itself. I know what it feels like to feel alone when it seems like no one understands what you’re going through. I know how frightening it can be when you don’t know what’s happening with your child.

And I know this not only as a professional, but as a parent too.
One of my children is neurodivergent, and my own experience has led me to where I am today – supporting families like yours.

I founded Mosoly Fejlesztőház so that other parents wouldn’t have to feel so alone. I want you to know that there is hope – and that your child doesn’t need to be ‘fixed’, but understood and supported.

I offer consultations in person in Budapest’s 13th district or online.

HOW CAN I HELP?

  • Understanding your autistic or ADHD child’s behaviour – what may be behind emotional outbursts, feeling overwhelmed, or withdrawing.
  • Finding practical ways to handle challenging everyday situations – such as transitions, setting boundaries, sibling conflicts, or challenges at school or nursery.

  • Finding practical tools for everyday life – helping to reduce stress and make situations more predictable.

  • Building a stronger connection with your child – making communication and cooperation easier.

  • Finding greater confidence and support as a parent – so you don’t have to face your questions alone.

NEUROAFFIRMATIVE APPROACH

What does the neuroaffirmative approach mean?

In my work, I take a neuroaffirmative approach.. This means that we don’t see neurodiversity – including autism and ADHD – as a problem or something that needs to be “fixed”, but as a natural part of the way our brains can work differently.

With this approach, the goal isn’t to make children fit into an expected norm, but to better understand how they experience and navigate the world, and to find environments, tools and strategies that support them in everyday life.

Together with parents, we work to find practical solutions that work for the whole family, building on the child’s strengths and taking an accepting and supportive approach.
